A few months ago, dining in was simply not a good enough alternative to dining out, but fast forward the Covid-19 clock, and sitting in the comfort of our homes eating beautifully prepared gastro style food, has become a pretty good alternative!
Lottie's take-aways were an idea born out of lockdown. We were already a small catering business, serving the local villagers at weddings, christenings and birthday parties, and when this became impossible to continue, our enthusiasm certainly didn't stop.
We'd already started a few local bistro nights in the village that had proved highly successful, but now was the time to really think about how we could lift the spirits of our village and still create good pub grub that would cheer people up on a Friday night in.
Lottie's Kitchen was born! We chose a theme, posted it on our Facebook page, and within minutes the orders began to flood in. People loved the concept. The chance to bring a slice of restaurant-standard cooking into their homes and make those dull monotonous nights feel just that little bit better.
We found we weren't only the provider of food, but also a friendly face to chat to for those who had barely seen one all week, and the interaction with people really cheered us up too! Our take-away service took off and we've never looked back.
Lottie's take-away has grown from strength to strength - we've continued to prove that you don't need to go out to have a wonderful evening. We offer our customers the chance to pick from a selection of freshly cooked restaurant style meals - to collect or be delivered - all you need to do is set the table and open a bottle of wine!
We also offer customers the choice of a private dining experience - we'll come round, prepare and cook the food and serve it from your kitchen, so people wanting to celebrate a special birthday or event, can do so in style without having to worry about the cooking, or the clearing up!
Lottie's take-away service is going so well that we're now producing a selection of tasty tray bakes from our home kitchen for our customers to add-on to their order - an added bit of comfort food for the family over the weekend, and we've got lots more up our sleeve for the future.
As restaurants start to fill up again, and people begin to venture out, we don't feel phased by the competition. We know we've created a concept that works - eating in has certainly become the new eating out for many, and we're determined to keep our customer's happy.
With the current Government guidelines in place, we're still a little sceptical about what the future holds, but we're definitely doing everything we can to make sure our business grows. We've turned a negative situation into a positive one - feeding our villagers in the best way we know how - by keeping their hearts full and their belly's happy.
