Great food should make you smile and feel good inside
Lottie and Sarah formed a mother and daughter partnership in 2015. After years of hosting parties for family and friends and eventually Lottie’s big sister's wedding, they felt they had the confidence and experience to leave their teaching and marketing jobs behind and create a dream business - Lottie's Kitchen.
The first step
Sarah and Lottie initially invested in building their own kitchen on the side of their house running an outside café selling coffee, cakes and lunches in the village of Nether Kellet. Every couple of months they transformed their studio into a ‘pop up bistro’ - the locals brought their own wine and they provided the food and waitress service.
Bistro nights were a sell-out and an opportunity for Sarah and Lottie to showcase their real cooking skills. Customers soon began to ask if they would cater for parties, and they found they loved the variety of working to different briefs and the challenge of cooking in other people's kitchens. By the end of the year they were taking wedding bookings.
Best of bistro at home
Sarah and Lottie used the success of their bistro-themed nights as a basis for their new take-away service, so people could enjoy home cooked meals featuring high quality seasonal fresh produce from the beauty of their own home. They posted a menu on Facebook and within minutes the first orders came flooding in.
Since then, Sarah and Lottie have continued to prove you don’t need to go out to have a wonderful evening. You can enjoy a freshly cooked restaurant style meal - to collect or be delivered - all you need to do is set the table and open a bottle of your favourite wine!
