Family Life at Lottie's

Family is at the heart of our business. Lottie's Kitchen grew from a partnership between myself and my daughter, Lottie, and since the beginning we've tried to keep the concept of family living at the heart of everything we do.

Our family-grown catering business has enabled us to find ways to offer even more to our customers. Serving the local community of Nether Kellet and beyond, we've formed close relationships with clients and built up a clearer picture of what our customers are ultimately looking for.

How have we done this? We feel that the key to success is to remain true to ourselves and play on each family member's individual strengths. We are all very strong willed and opinionated, but our shared 'best' qualities have resulted in a family of ambitious successful people - even our 9 month old grandson Arthur is starting to show some of the Mason character traits!

Nanna Mason: the inspiration and teacher

It was Nanna Mason who ultimately made our dreams for Lottie's Kitchen become a reality - my husband Richard invested money left to him by Nanna to build the extension which became our original kitchen/coffee shop. Nanna Mason was a wonderful baker, famous for her gingerbread and fish and chips, and our daughters learnt many of their baking skills from her. Like Lottie, Nanna loved feeding people.

Richard: the multi-tasking personal trainer

When Covid-19 struck, Richard's personal training studio (built adjacent to our kitchen), also had to close with immediate effect. When myself and Lottie launched our Takeaway concept, we were suddenly inundated with orders and Richard found himself taking on two new jobs - one was to get his apron on and be our Kitchen Porter/Pot Wash/Delivery Man and the other was to provide childcare for Baby Arthur - we all really did have to 'muck' in!

Hayley: the high-flying 'vegan' lawyer

Hayley, Lottie's big sister, is a high flying corporate lawyer in Manchester, but when she has time off she regularly comes to help myself and Lottie in the kitchen. Hayley and her husband became mainly Vegan in 2019, so they have been the inspiration for our vegan-friendly menus - all tasted and approved. Hayley is hugely creative and loves cooking - she has cooked us some amazing vegan meals and really opened our eyes to how great vegan food is.

Matthew: the meat expert and wine connoisseur

Matthew is Lottie’s partner, a committed foodie and also a great cook. As part of his job, Matthew has worked on brands such a Nando’s, Hairy Bikers, Wahaka, and currently works for the Flava People in Manchester. Whilst we all enjoy traditional food, Matthew's work and travel experiences ensure we have a diverse repertoire of dishes and flavours to appeal to all ages. Matthew is also our in-house wine expert and is qualified in wine-pairing.

Baby Arthur: the food critic and time smuggler

Arthur is now 9 months old and moving at great speed. It’s certainly been a challenge for Lottie juggling a business and a baby - as every working mum knows. We get a lot of work done together either after Arthur goes to bed or before he wakes up in the morning. Over the next few months, Lottie will be sharing recipes and easy tips on how to feed a toddler. His current favourite breakfast is our ‘Kitchen’ toast.

Lottie's Kitchen's collective family skills enable us to deliver a unique, well-rounded food delivery service. In the coming months, we want to continue to build on our connections with customers, and we have lots of ideas on how to do this - so please, WATCH THIS SPACE!

Over the last few months, we've all spent a lot of time at home, and I've been inspired by how many people have used this experience in a positive way.
